Victoria Police have launched a recruitment drive to lighten the administrative load for frontline officers and allow them to return to duty on the street.  (ABC News: Margaret Burin )

Hundreds of former police officers will return to serve as reservists to free up frontline officers around Victoria.

The reservists will perform administrative office tasks, with Premier Ben Carroll vowing to staff police stations around the state more regularly.
