In short:

Resources Victoria has approved a mining licence for the Avonbank Mineral Sands Project in Dooen, near Horsham.

The WIM Resource-operated mine was granted a 20-year licence to dig up materials used in everyday technology and renewable energy projects.

What's next?

WIM Resource says construction could start in late 2027, with the mine to be operational by 2029, pending finances, construction and environmental approvals.
